Ode to the Ending of Summer

Watercolor on Paper

I have always struggled with accepting the warmer months coming to an end and would always fight the feeling and get depressed once I finally gave in to the reality of winter and fall.

This is an abstraction of one of my favorite photos from the middle of Summer.

Sketches of which hands and feeling I wanted to represent.

Kiwi

En plein air of midday at Holden beach in November.

Titled after meeting a woman who went by kiwi, who talked to us about her life.

Includes a second unfinished painting of the sunrise.

Lovers Rock (2022)

The Bassist

11 x 14

Acrylic, and ink on paper.

A style study of two artists: Gustav Klimt, and Ralph Steadman.

This piece is specifically based off the illustration of "Dr. Gonzo" by Ralph Steadman (shown right, or below for mobile users).

The bassist is based on my father who played in a band when I was a kid. Klimt and Steadman were my favorite artists growing up and the nostalgia of studying the artists styles reminded me of when I was growing up watching my Father play.
